Delilah did not often get time to herself during photoshoots, but when her crew broke for an early lunch (Everyone back in fifteen minutes!), the model made her getaway.[break][break]
Perching a pair of fashionable sunglasses on her head, donning a feather-light white silk cover-up, and grabbing a book and a Pokeball, Delilah began walking, soon shifting her position so that she could dip her feet into the cool water, traversing the wetly-packed sandy line between ocean and beach. Her path led her away from the tarps, suspended lights, and intricate camera set-ups of the photoshoot...towards a rather lovely woman who seemed to be fishing?[break][break]
Momentarily transfixed by the way the woman was furiously scribbling notes, Delilah tried to guess at her purpose. Fishermen - and women - didn't necessarily take notes. She also didn't seem to be keeping any of the captured Finneon. A researcher of some kind, then? Perhaps a marine biologist.[break][break]
"Hello - " Delilah began, intrigued enough to greet her, but a sudden breeze startled her by knocking her sunglasses right off the top of her head and into the ocean.[break][break]
"Oh - !" She fumbled, twisting around in the sand to attempt to go after them before they floated out of reach.

"It's fine, I'll just - " Delilah started to say, bending over to try and reach for the sunglasses, but the Cramorant was much quicker. Sprayed with a sudden shower of sea water, Delilah sputtered, stepping back to give the bird space as it burst out of the water. Delilah turned to the woman, willing away the momentary annoyance of getting unexpectedly drenched to make room for gratitude. The woman was just trying to help, after all, and her bird Pokémon had already started diving for the now half-obscured sunglasses.[break][break]
"Thank you for the assistance, Nenet," she greeted. It took her a moment to register the woman's question, unaccustomed to the lack of recognition; she kept needing to remind herself that she'd only just returned to Hoenn. And, admittedly, there were folks in the world disinterested in popular culture and celebrity news.[break][break]
"Yes, a photo shoot. Modeling some new pieces from the De Nucci line," she nodded. "Delilah Silph. It's a pleasure to meet you."[break][break]
She made to hold out her hand, but thought better of it when she remembered the bucket of fresh-caught Finneon. So instead, she brushed her hair out of her face, flashing Nenet a winning smile.

Delilah did notice the haphazard way the Cramorant handled its prize, but she didn't say anything: after all, there were worse outcomes, such as losing her sunglasses to the whims of the sea. When offered, she took the sunglasses, eyes twinkling with amusement. Despite being covered in salt water and carrying the rather crude bucket of fish, this Nenet had a certain undeniable degree of elegance and grace - Delilah recognized it in the way she moved, the way she carried herself. It made the idol curious.[break][break]
"What is it you do, exactly?" She asked, not unkindly, nodding at the bucket. "There seems to be a bit more to all this than mere fishing."[break][break]
She popped the sunglasses back onto her head, wincing slightly as they dripped chilly water into her hair.

"Astronomical observer?" Delilah echoed, impressed. "A woman of science." She smiled appreciatively. "Are you working on anything interesting, these days?" She paused, glancing at the bucket of Finneon. "Well, besides helping out some Conservationists and Rangers, I mean. Though...that doesn't seem particularly interesting, if you ask me." From Nenet's less than thrilled expression, it seemed she agreed.[break][break]
She wondered if Nenet's typical research had any connection to the sorts of experiments her brother was running within the Aeos Division of Silph Co.[break][break]
At the mention of De Nucci, Delilah blinked, then followed Nenet's gaze, glancing down at herself. "Ah, yes. He's a prominent Kalosian designer: Richard De Nucci. Brilliant man, I've been an ambassador for his brand since I was a teenager." Her eyes lit up, an idea occurring to her. "I would be happy to bring you some samples from his newest line. You'd actually look stunning in one of the ballgowns."

There's always something to explore though, isn't there?[break][break]
The sentiment resonated. Delilah found herself nodding, feeling suddenly restless. I need to get into one of those rifts. Instead, she was modeling. It wasn't so much that her own professional pursuits brought her shame - quite the contrary - but she could not help but feel a sense of urgency in regards to the peril the region had been experiencing.[break][break]
And given how little faith her brother seemed to have in her, she was eager to prove herself useful.[break][break]
"I'd love to stop by the Observatory sometime," Delilah said, meaning it. She took the piece of paper from Nenet, glancing at the email address scrawled upon it before covering it within a balled fist to protect it from the sea breeze.[break][break]
"It was a pleasure to meet you, too, Nenet. I will be in touch."
